Safety & Usage Policy

At Truly Pawsome UK, the safety and wellbeing of your dog is our highest priority. Please read the following guidelines carefully before using any harness, collar, lead, or accessory purchased from us.

Product Testing

All Truly Pawsome UK products undergo strength and safety testing, and manufacturer certificates are available upon request. Notwithstanding this, it remains the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ensure correct fitting, safe use, and regular inspection of all products.

Important Notice: Excessive Pullers

Whilst all Truly Pawsome UK products are strength tested, our harnesses, collars, and leads are not recommended for use on dogs that are excessive or XL-strength pullers. Excessive pulling places stress on all components beyond normal tested parameters. Truly Pawsome UK shall not be held responsible for any breakage, failure, or injury arising from use on a dog that pulls excessively or with extreme force. If your dog is a strong puller, we recommend seeking professional training advice before use.

Correct Fitting

All products must be fitted correctly before use. A correctly fitted harness or collar should allow two fingers to be placed flat between the product and your dog's body — not too tight, not too loose. Recheck the fit regularly, particularly as puppies grow or your dog's weight changes.

Supervision

Never leave your dog unsupervised whilst wearing a harness, collar, or any lead attachment. All products must be removed when your dog is resting, sleeping, or confined to a crate.

Fabric Accessories (Sailor Bows & Decorative Items)

Sailor bows and other fabric accessories are decorative items intended for supervised use only. They must never be left on an unsupervised dog, and must be removed before crating, sleeping, or any unattended period. These accessories are not toys — do not allow your dog to chew or play with them. Inspect before each use and discontinue use immediately if any fraying, loose threads, or damage is found. These items present a potential choking or entanglement hazard if used unsupervised.

Pre-Use Inspection

Before every use, inspect all components including buckles, D-rings, stitching, webbing, and fastenings for signs of wear, damage, or deterioration. Any product showing signs of damage must be withdrawn from use immediately and replaced.

Care & Maintenance

Follow the care instructions provided with each product. Improper washing or drying may weaken materials and compromise safety.

Silicone Products (Lick Mats & Bowls)

Our silicone lick mats and collapsible bowls are made from premium food-grade silicone and are BPA-free and pet safe. Please observe the following guidelines:

• Always supervise your pet during use. These products are not toys and must not be chewed or destroyed.
• Inspect the product before each use for signs of wear, cracking, or deterioration. Discontinue use immediately if any damage is found.
• Ensure all foods, spreads, or treats used with lick mats are safe and appropriate for your pet before use.
• Clean after every use. These products are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Do not use in a microwave or expose to direct heat sources.
• Replace immediately if the silicone shows any signs of tearing, cracking, or degradation.

Truly Pawsome UK shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, or damage arising from improper use of silicone products, use of unsuitable foods, or continued use of a damaged item.

Truly Pawsome UK shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage to any animal or person arising from: improper fitting or use of any product; failure to follow the care, safety, or sizing guidelines provided; use of any product on an animal for which it was not intended; or continued use of a damaged or worn product. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ensure correct sizing, fitting, and safe use at all times.

This Safety & Usage Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
